Ernie Wolfe Gallery and Turkana Primitive
Established 1981
Museum Quality Art and Artifacts

With two galleries side by side, the Ernie Wolfe Gallery specializes in juxtaposition exhibitions between modern American, often Southern California based, and African tribal and contemporary art. Next door at Turkana (pictured below) one will find an array of large-scale traditional and architectural sculpture from Sub-Saharan Africa such as granary ladders, Toguna house posts from Mali, vigango (commemorative/ancestor veneration sculptures) from Kenya, tribal furniture, "Heavy Metal" (aka traditional African currency and weapons), ceremonial masks and dolls, as well as contemporary African paintings and sculpture, including FAVs (Fantastic After-Life Vehicles) and hand-painted Golden Age movie posters from Ghana.
